Super Affiliate Tools Explained - Case Study #1, Part 1

My first idea was to simply make a few videos explaining how to use each one of the "Super Affiliate Tools" separately; however, not long after I had this thought it quickly dawned on me, that it would be more practical and of far more value, to show you how you can use all 3 tools together to create profitable PPC campaigns in a very small amount of time. Just the way I do! :-)

For the very first case study I'm using a ClickBank product that I have done minimal research on. I must clarify that I have chosen to do this, NOT because this is the way that I choose the products and/or services that I want to promote, but I have done this with a purpose. My purpose is to show you how confident I am in these tools, and how I truly believe these are indispensable tools that can help you turn a profit on almost ANY product/service/niche you choose to promote. I want to show you how to do this step-by-step by letting you look over my shoulder while I do it.

Normally, when choosing any product/niche/service you need to do proper research and find out what will bring you the highest ROI (Return On Investment). One of our tools, KeywordSpy, is a wonderful resource that can help you research any market/niche in a very thorough and comprehensive manner. It will help you find your competitors, their keywords, URLs, ads and see their entire online marketing strategies. This will allow you to see what strategies are working for other people and how you can improve on these strategies and create a successful strategy/plan for yourself.

There are many other techniques and tools that will allow you to research any online market, and in the near future, we intend to perform some case studies that will involve more research. Many mailing list members have been asking for the next video in the first case study series. The results from the study, though very small, were positive.

As you can see on the video I chose just a small set of keywords with little traffic and picked a product without much prior research. I spent about US$80 on the campaign and made one single first sale for US$100; and as this was a recurring commission product, I have also been earning $23 on recurring commission from that one sale for the past 3 months... so my net profit from this small campaign has been only $89 (though increasing by $23 every month). About 50% ROI, so far. Not too bad, just very small numbers.

All the keywords with the most traffic didn't perform at all!! The only keyword that converted; well, I actually paused... that's because according to Conversion Prophet' stats the interest level was below 20%. The keyword as you'll also be able to see on the print screens is the following: "conversational hypnosis com" (phrase match)

I felt that it would be a waste of my time to do a whole video on such small results. I decided instead to write this little comment and post this data here on the site for all of you to see.

As I previously explained, the main purpose behind my first case study was to, first and foremost, show you how to use these 3 tools to put a PPC campaign together. Unfortunately the product I chose did not bring as much traffic, certainly not as much as I expected. So there is an extra lesson for you and obviously for myself... always do your research! 

I was very hasty and because my intention was to have this video online as quickly as possible I pretty much picked a product randomly out of the hat, so to speak... don't do this with your own campaigns... though the result was positive, the returns could have been much greater and the case study would have had far more significance if I had done a better job at choosing a good product for it.

Now... what I intend to do in the near future, is do some proper research before jumping in and doing a case study too quickly... or even better perhaps show you how I promote one of my other sites and create an affiliate program for that site, perhaps you can all become my super affiliates... that sounds like a huge win-win situation for all of us!
